Default NetBeans Java Development on PPC - Possible?

http://blogs.sun.com/roller/page/bb...ions_for_pocket

"A recently released preview of Mobility Pack for CDC allows to develop Java application for Symbian based devices, in particular for Sony Ericsson P990 and Nokia Series 80, which feature a CDC configuration with Personal Profile. Unfortunately, the tool cannot be used out of box with one of the platforms, which is quite widespread these days,- PDAs running Microsoft Windows Mobile operating system. Luckily, because of extremely versatile build system used in NetBeans, it is not difficult to a basic support for deploying and running the developed application on a Pocket PC device (or emulator). Let's suppose you have some project developed for CDC/PP using Mobility Pack for CDC, ideally using Matisse form designer, and you would like to deploy and run it on a Pocket PC device. For example something like this"

An interesting piece on overcoming the limitations of the latest Java tools and porting applications to Pocket PC. I've never been a big fan of Java, but if it's your cup of coffee, than you may be interested in this piece from sun.com's Blog section.

Too bad the blog entry is closed - Greetje has asked whether it's possible to compile on the PPC itself. It surely is - see this PPCT thread.

You should contact the author of Mysaifu (also see my blog on the compliance reports of it - for example, this post) on the chances of switching to Java 1.5. He's really responsive.

" see this PPCT thread."
Did you read the thread? I'm probably aware it exists, considering the fact that I started it...

Thanks for pointing out Mysaifu's VM to me though. Still need a compiler, but I'll scavenge through that thread again once I get a new pocketPC...

Sorry, it was not meant for you, but general readers and particularly Greetje.
