Default Dopod Releases the MSFP for the 818 Pro, 838, and 900

http://www.dopodasia.com/Dopod/Sing...+PDA+phones.htm

"Dopod International (S) Corp Pte Ltd, a leading PDA phone and smart phone provider, is introducing push-mail updates for the entire range of PDA phone models currently available here. This includes the Dopod 900, 838 and 818 Pro. This technology, which works with Microsoft's Outlook Exchange Server 2003 SP2, will prevent busy executives from missing emails while on the move... Push mail technology is set to further enhance Outlook efficiency, cut down clutter and greatly improve mobility. Dopod users can now receive an email simultaneously on their PCs and Dopod PDA phones with little or no delays. Users can check their latest emails and update their schedules, stay [in contact] while on the go and manage workloads effortlessly. The improvements do not end there. With this latest update, corporate IT managers can also enhance the security of their Dopod devices by enforcing the use of a PIN lock or by doing a remote over-the-air wipe. This can be done by sending a command over the mobile network to the Dopod device to delete all data if it gets lost or misplaced."

Microsoft's push e-mail solution is now available for the Dopod 818 Pro (HTC Prophet), 838 (HTC Wizard), and 900 (HTC Universal), with the 577W Smartphone set to be included in that group later this quarter. If you own one or more of the first three devices mentioned, you can grab the update by visiting the Dopod Asia home page.

Dopod 838 Rom Code (2006/04/19)
ROM version: 2.21.13.1 WWE
ROM date: 03/09/06
Radio Version: 02.19.11
Protocol Version: 4.1.13.09
ExtROM version: 2.21.13.102
I've been using the new ROM for Dopod 838 for the past week and it is very stable My Softreset time is at 35 ~ 40 seconds a significant improvement from the 1.3 ROM and the Qtek 2.8 Test ROM I was using which took upto a minute to be useable.

I don't use the MSFP stuff so I am not able to comment on that.

Also FYI the A2DP Tornado Cab works on this ROM
Also as with all AKU2 ROMs the Time on the Task bar is now replaced by a useless battery bar [useless as it only has two segments... so it is nowhere near any sort of accuracy they should have put in atleast 4 bars for 25% each which would be better IMO]. The Date plugin now has 2 lines which has the time. You may elect to have time shown in other apps but when you are on your today screen and don't have the Date plugin on you can't see the time.
