Default Brighthand Reviews VDC IPTV (Video On-Demand) Service

http://www.brighthand.com/default.asp?newsID=12188

"IPTV is going to be a hot acronym when it comes to mobile entertainment. Short for Internet Protocol Television, it's a catch-all phrase used to describe live, on-demand television services, in this case on a computer. VDC has launched such a service that it hopes will help it carve out a nice section of this high growth industry... compatible with Windows machines and Windows Mobile based PDAs and smartphones... The quality is remarkably good... better than other video services we've tested."

Streaming video has arguably been one of the fastest growing technologies brought on by the Internet over the past few years (along with VoIP), so it's only a matter of time before someone brings streaming video some real "WOW" factor to the handheld device. Well, if this Brighthand review is any indication, that time may have arrived with the VDC IPTV service. Check out the review and let us know if this is something that gets your juices flowing!

It's really needed but BBC America and Resi Movie Classics which are advertised on their webpage do not work. All you get is some silly spinning Brain. I'm also not happy with the sign up process.

I dont understand this craze: is there really anything on TV that is worth watching that makes this kind of service desireable? Especially on a screen that is at most 3.5"?

Well I do not have cable at home so a service that can stream 24/7 cable channels to my device is a godsend. BBC America, The Discovery Channel and The Learning Channel all have excellent programing. Once those stations go active I predict VDC will have a large membership.

BBC America, The Discovery Channel and The Learning Channel are now active on VDC. This really is like having cable TV in your pocket.
