Default emoze, A Free Push E-Mail Solution

http://www.emoze.com

"April 5, 2006: emoze welcomes you to try its revolutionary new software that enables standard mobile phones to receive e-mail and PIM data (calendar, contacts, tasks and notes). emoze is currently being offered as a free consumer download."

From what I can tell, this is an interesting way to get your own push E-mail setup by connecting it via a plug-in to your home PC's email software, through their network, and right down to your device. The software seems fairly simple to setup and use, and you can't beat free. Head on over to the emoze site to learn more and get started.

I've tried it out and it works as advertised. Once connected to an Internet connection it'll retrieve my Outlook email from work in about 30 seconds. Not bad.

The only drawbacks to this is 1) battery life on my Axim (or any other PPC) prohibits from using this for more than a few hours and 2) there's no wireless Internet connection available wherever I go

It's no blackberry but works fairly well.

Just wondering, can you use this over wifi or it only uses GPRS for data? I wouldn't mind using this with my WM5 phone if it doesn't uses GPRS to retrieve e-mail's.

The problem with this is that it insist on having ActiveSync installed, rather than just having an independet Outlook plug-in that simply forward the email.

I use a separate laptop for work and since I don't sync with my work Outlook (ActiveSync can't do selective sync), it simply won't work.

Actually, I installed ActiveSync at my laptop at work, but don't sync and install eMoze applicaiton, but eMOze just hang and just kept on crashing UNLESS I create an ActiveSync partnership at my work laptop.

Oh well...

Thank the lord for Outlook Backup! This would have happened to me too - but to my Agenda instead! The software recommends that you delete entires off the device to avoid duplications and then only sync's 7 days worth of diary and dumps the rest to the deleted folder! Great! It also crashed several times. Have needless to say dumped the pigging thing and reisntalled my Outlook Backup.PST!
