Default PocketPuTTY SSH Client Open Source Software For Pocket PC

http://www.pocketputty.net/

"It is a Windows CE port of famous PuTTY (free, BSD licensed open source SSH terminal for Windows). I started to port PuTTY as a part of my diploma thesis. After quite big success (10.000 downloads during 1st month after release), I decided to polish the code and open the source code widely to public. Sorry for the delay, but finally - here we are!"

Janak first posted about this software in 2004. It is still very much a work in progress. Right now, it support WM2003. WM2002, 2000 and WM5 support are in the works, but if you are impatient, you can download the source file and get it working on your particular platform.

Default Status

This app seems to work fine on my X50v, but it is not aware of the SIP in terms of scrolling the screen to see the command line when the SIP is visible.

Default pocket putty

i have used this app for quite a while on my ipaq 2215. it works very well, for the little workout I put it through.

My wish-list would include the fact that the SIP panel must be showing before opening the 'connect' screen. Otherwise you can't open the soft keyboard in the input window. an example of this is opening PpuTTY straight from the 'Recently used' list from the 'desktop', where the bottom panel is the BT panel. I find I have to be in a window like Notes or Inbox, which has the SIP panel at the bottom before running PpuTTY.
It also doesn't like the TENGO SIP.

Still you it gets me by when I need the Telnet or SSH access.

I know Telnet, but what's SSH? Can someone explain it in a way for a dummy to understand?

Default ssh

quick answer: it is a +- a secure telnet. Linux uses it as a default as opposed to telnet to login.

long answer: ask a Linux/unix geek, not me

I've fixed a few of the more annoying bugs. It now shows the SIP on the connect dialog, and resizes the terminal window when the SIP is active. Read about it and download it at my blog: http://www.cs.pitt.edu/~jmisurda/ppc...y060411-193343

Don't forget to leave feedback on how it works for you.

Default new app

This new rev works much better. the Font change is a great idea, particularly those of us who don't have VGA or screen rotate-ability.

the startup shows the SIP right away, so there is no more hidden panels.

Both improvements greatly enhance it's usefulness!
