PDair Aluminium Case for HTC Apache / Sprint PPC-6700 Reviewed
"Overall the PDair case is an effective way to protect the expensive and fragile HTC Apache. It is the only case at this time which allows the use of the keyboard while the PDA is in place, but the hinge being on the "wrong" side makes use of the keyboard less comfortable. The clear plastic window does provide good protection for the screen, but it also hinders typical PDA use and allows the collection of unwanted dust and debris. PPC-6700 users that need the protection a case such as this can offer will simply have to decide whether or not they can live with the caveats. For now, it is my PPC-6700's home."
As a follow-up to the review I posted earlier this week, the gadgeteer has a write-up on the PDAir Aluminum case for the 6700. I have the PDAir case for the K-JAM and use it on occasion, however it adds a bit too much bulk to the device for my tastes. What do you guys think? Worth the bulk?

This is not correct. The Piel Frama and the PDAir Flip do allow for use of the keyboard while the device is still in the case.
EDIT: I was thinking Wizard cases. I noticed that Piel Frama's XV6700 case (Apache) was not similar to the case for the Wizard.

Sorry - but that case can not be described as slim or compact! Eye of the beholder perhaps - but I dont like either of the cases shown (leather or ali).

Thats just stupid! I dont understand why the case couldn't have been designed around the other way so that the screen section would slide out over the 'cover' section leaving the keyboard section in the base unit.

Drop it once on a hard floor and you will find out. I dropped my Qtek 9100 twice this week and in both instances the case took the hit and the phone was undamaged.

I thought about that when I was doing the review, but if that happened, then it could be harder to hold the device. It would have a very different feel. Actually, what would be kind of nice is being able to detach the cover.
