CeBIT: Mio P350 and P550
With CeBIT over, the flurry of hardware news has stopped, though we do have one last Pocket PC to show you. This is the Mio P350 and P550 series - aside from the addition of Bluetooth 2.0 in the P550, both are essentially the same. They're equipped with a Samsung S3C2440 400MHz processor, 64MB RAM, 128MB ROM, a 3.5" QVGA (240 x 320) 65K-colour TFT-LCD, Wi-Fi, integrated GPS (SiRFstar III), an SDIO slot, a 1300mAh battery, and Windows Mobile 5.0. With the HTC Galaxy and a handful of new Pocket LOOXs from the Fujitsu-Siemens camp currently in the market, the new Mio devices should offer some good competition as far as GPS Pocket PCs are concerned.

I am totally confused.
Are VGA screens on a PPC costly? Are they problematic? Are they not worth it? Its not cost - they put GPS chips in a device that 70& of the population probably won't use properly or much - yet a screen that all use (especially with maps!) is not.
I love my 4700 for clarity, real estate and all around usability (touchpad aside).
Why are all these new devices coming out without VGA? What is the replacement for a 4700 (besides some converged device)?

Personally I don't understand why there is a Bluetooth 2.0, Wi-Fi trade off in this device... It should have both at least.

There isn't a trade-off. The P350 has Wi-Fi; the P550 has both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
