BenQ Readying the P51

BenQ is busy showing off the new P51 at CeBIT this week. It features a 2.83" QVGA (240 x 320) TFT-LCD, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, GPS, VoIP capabilities, a QWERTY keyboard, an SDIO slot, and Windows Mobile 5.0. Of course, by now you should all know the P50's stunning history. So, we think there's a slight possibility you may see an official P51 release in um, say, the year 2020?

I was going to ask if we could expect the P51 to be available before 2012, but then I noticed that Darius beat me to it.

If this thing had at least EDGE (and maybe an FM Radio, they are really cheap to integrate, about $5), it would have been dynamite!
I don't think that this model will take more than a few months to release, simply because it is based on the already-ready P50. It is the same unit, just with GPS (the only hardware addition) and WM5. Theoretically, this unit should be out by May.

Well, if it can be delievered on time, P51 is still the best phone for me. Some people may think treo700w square screen is OK, I tried it by myself. No way for me. With the two soft key and title bar on, there is so little space for anything.

I actually agree with "Eugenia", if its released any later than July i'll be really dissapointed as its almost the same as the P50, with some simple but real good Upgrades.. this is almost my dream machine
Although if it does NOT support EDGE that would be a huge disappointment, the Atom is soo cool but i really need a keyboard & the GPS will be an awesome add on

I know that there's alot of P50 haters out there, but...
I bought a P50 and an HTC universal at the same time to test which I would like more. After getting frustrated with the Universal's memory leaks, slow wm5.0, and intermittent resets, I've gone to the p50. It's not that bad of a device, folks. If Imate's latest ROM is actually faster, I may go back to the HTC. But for now, the P50 will more than suffice.
I will mention that I had to go through 3 before I got a fully functioning unit. First had a bad keyboard backlight and the second had a bad SD card writer. I really question BenQ's quality control.
