Default PocketNow Reviews the i-mate JAMin

http://pocketnow.com/index.php?a=po...=reviews&id=783

"Since some of you are probably just purchasing the variations of HTC Wizard (T-Mobile MDA, Cingular 8125) and HTC Apache (Verizon XV6700 and Sprint PPC-6700), as they've recently become available through North American phone carriers, you may be wondering how they compare to this new HTC Prophet model. Honestly, despite some shortcomings such as the lack of keyboard, I firmly believe the Prophet is superior. I was pretty disappointed with the thickness of my K-JAM whom I lovingly refer to as "Fatty McFat Fat," so now that I'm using a device as thin, small, and light as the original JAM, I'm much happier..."

Adam from PocketNow (those are not his hands ) gives a very detailed yet energetic review of the i-mate JAMin with many pictures and benchmarks included. So, in case you're still deciding on the next converged device to slip into your pocket, this may very well help in your decision.

Haha! Yes, those are Jackie's hands. You'll see my hands on the second page holding the JAMin as a camera.

See? I knew it. I told myself, "Adam doesn't like French manicures. He's more of an nail 'air brush' design."

Great review, by the way. I couldn't get myself to go with another device with a 200MHz OMAP processor. After using many other XScale and SC2440 processors at 400-624 MHz, I tried my best to appreciate the effort of the OMAP processor, but to no avail. Perhaps as a backup device, I'd get an 8125, but not as a primary unit where I would have to deal with it all the time.

Haha! Yeah, I'm getting used to the OMAP processor. The other improvements seem to be more important for me right now (Better bluetooth, better buttons, WM5, camera, thin body covered in tight black rubber), but the bugs and slowness can certainly be annoying.

So no more Wizards for you? What are you using primarily now? The big Universal? Then you have to deal with slow GPRS though. So many compromises!
