One of the problems that I often have is forgetting that I've recorded notes. I used to use a freeware app that would watch a given directory and display an alert on the today screen when notes were present.
Too bad this product doesn't seem to have that. I can't remember what that app used to be called.

Good find. I thought the name sounded familiar.

How does this compare to Vito's Sound Explorer, which I currently use? I primarily use it for this purpose and I'm always playing with the file type and size settings and trying to figure out what will work best. This seems to be what I'd have bought if it were available back when I bought Sound Explorer.

Main question: can it be configuered so that I can use my device's record-button to record a message on the fly? Anything else like having to start an application, press whatever buttons to start recording ... is just not intuitive and leaves much to desire when comparing to a "normal" dicatphone. So far only WM's standard notetaking application can offer this, however this application is just not flexible enough for more advanced taking of voice notes (no pause, no space-saving recording formats ...)
I would love to see a simple, quick an easy solution that simply works by pushing the recording button!

Many apps support button-based recording - that is, exactly what you need. Please see the "One-button recording? " row in the comparison chart of my roundup of sound recorders for the Pocket PC.

Not yet - just working on a kick-ass roundup of Pocket PC mailer applications. Will test this app too as soon as I have some free time.
