Default Phone Profiles 1.21 Released

http://www.winmobileapps.com/device...pc/plt/plt.aspx

Phone Profiles is a freeware application that adds profile functionality to your Pocket PC Phone Edition. It features a Today plug-in for convenient profile switching, and control over volume, ringtones, and wireless radios. User reports seem to indicate that it works in Windows Mobile 5.0, so if your OEM hasn't added any sort of profile tool to your device, then this seems worthy of a download.

Default I will watch this software

This looks like an interesting piece of software worth watching.

I am new to PPC, and one of the things I am still struggling with is the interaction of the different network methods - GPRS/WiFi/Cradle Sync etc.

On the website it says that WiFi and GPS are currently not available, as they are still under development.

Once the developer sorts out these issues, this will become an very useful addition to your PPC Phone.

Been using this for the past few weeks. It's great [even if WiFi and GPRS are not yet supported]. Even if you don't have the Today Plug-in shown it will still work [I am using it with WM5 NewMenu another freeware]

I just started using it and I like it. Thanks PPC Thoughts for the link. I have a PPC 6700 and it works just fine.

Default Not there, yet...

I tested this application in my i-Mate K-Jam looking for something like the phone profiles available in WM5 smartphones.

I am very dissapointed to find this tool doesn't support enabling the vibration mode that comes with WM5 (or at least is not intuitive enough to allow an easy configuration), and doesn't automatically checks for appointments in the calendar to turn a "meeting mode" when appropriate.

If I get these two things, I'll use the tool.

well it is a freeware application... for more heavy duty profile work try PZP or phoneAlarm.

Thanks for the suggestions!
I tried PZP and found that, although it works in WM5, it is not designed for it and the UI is very complex and not intuitive at all (usability issues).

Will take a look at phoneAlarm. It looks better, but will report back once I have used it for some days.

Hi,

phoneAlarm lite (and a smartphone version) are both in development. Will require much fewer resources and be easier to use - and easier on the pocket book naturally
