Default the::unwired on the New Samsung Smartphone and "Windows Mobile Messengers"

http://www.theunwired.net/?itemid=2907

"I got a couple of E-Mails from you guys where most of you asked regarding the comparison between the lately announced Samsung SGH-i320 and the Motorola Q and here we go with some impressive (I think) shots between both devices which should gives you an even better overview how small the i320 is, while I wouldn't say at all that the Motorola Q is huge but it's interesting to see how small you can go:"

Our sister site, Smartphone Thoughts, is obviously covering the i320 Smartphone a lot more closely than we are. However, I particularly liked this comparison shot (a bigger version is in the article) including the four "messenger" Windows Mobile devices, that is, devices with a smaller screen and non-slide-out thumbboard. It's obvious the iPAQ hw series are the largest and the i320 the smallest, but it's remarkable how competitively-sized the Treo is compared to the Q -- in fact, it looks narrower. The Treo does really feel like a "smartphone with a touch screen and Pocket PC compatibility", and Palm has done a decent job striking a balance between the two platforms and helping to blur the Windows Mobile platform a little further.

I knew the Q's screen was "offset" (not centered) but I did not realize it was landscape. Will "normal" programs handle this size? Or will updates have to be made?
Just what we needed, another screen size to worry about. Who does Moto think it is, Sony?

That's a good question... for the SPT folks. :P I have no clue, but I'm assuming that landscape in Smartphone works a lot like Pocket PC.

It's in a slightly different category, with a slide-out keyboard. This pic reflects those "RIM-like" devices.
