Default eWallet 4.1 Released

http://www.iliumsoft.com/site/ew/ewallet.htm

Ilium Software has updated their popular electronic wallet software to version 4.1. Most of the updates bring it up to speed with the changes on the Windows Mobile 5 platform, but they have added a few new features as well.

New features include:

 New 3D icons
Upgraded encryption on all platforms to use a 256-bit key
Windows Mobile 5.0 - eWallet now fully supports Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC and Smartphone devices
New Windows Mobile screen sizes are supported including Pocket PC square screens and high resolution Smartphone screens
PassBuilder - eWallet now features a built-in password generator on either the desktop or device.
Synchronization - SyncPro and synchronization setup have been improved to make it easier to configure and change synchronization for your wallet

eWallet 4.1 is available from the Pocket PC Thoughts Handango store. You can get the regular version which is the Pocket PC client for $19.95, or the professional version which includes a Windows desktop client as well for $29.95. This is a free upgrade to eWallet 4.x owners, and owners of pre-4.0 versions can get special upgrade pricing at Ilium's site. There is a trial available for those totally new to eWallet.

I was hoping they'd include the password generator on the pocketpc app too, like FlexWallet did recently.

I guess they'll keep that for the 5.0 release or something.

Hmmm. Not so good. I upgraded from 4.02 to 4.1 and I get a Visual C++ runtime error every time the desktop version starts up.

The password generator is included in the Pocket PC, Smartphone, Palm OS, and Windows PC versions. On a 2003 Pocket PC just tap and hold on the field where you want to create the password and choose Build Password. On a WM 5.0 Pocket PC you can do the same thing or select Menu->Build Password...

Ahhh... I never saw that. On the desktop, the "Build Password" button is right there on the card. On the PPC, I was expecting it to be in the menu somewhere. Didn't occur to me to be in the Password field for it to show up. I'll edit the original post. I just assumed the password building engine was only on the desktop.

Default Nice...

Just loaded on the Cingular 2125 WM5 Smartphone and works great!

Syncpro runs great...no more patch files! Woohooo!

I knew when I spent 20 bucks a while back when this came with the ipaqs I was onto something good...

Great job - and Mark, thanks for responding to all of my iliumsoft support emails when I was trying to get SyncPro (patch) running....

OK... I am so excited! (I must be a PPC nerd!)

I have about 15 passwords at work that expire every month to 60 days, and I've been praying that Ilium would include a password generator function soon. I remember a post, I believe here in PPC Thoughts, a year or so ago where a thread was started on the idea that a password generator was a good function.

I'm so glad it's here... way to go Ilium Soft!!!!

They must have done some great work on compression, because my 590 k eWallet 4.0 file is now 166 k with the new version and more responsive!

Did you check to make sure it didn't just delete 3/4 of your wallet? :devilboy:
