Mini & Micro SD Cards: More for More
"SanDisk is unveiling a microSD card with a 1 GB (gigabyte) capacity. Originally developed by SanDisk and formerly known as TransFlash, the fingernail-sized card will be able to store up to 32 hours of WMA-compressed music. . . The card comes with an adapter allowing it to be used in a standard SD slot. The previous highest capacity for the SanDisk microSD was 512 megabytes (MB). SanDisk also expanded its mobile line today by introducing a SanDisk 2GB miniSD card (up from 1GB) with the aim of accommodating consumers' increasing demand for accessing photos, music and video. . ."
My, how the two smallest members of the SD family are growing! The suggested prices are US$119 for the 1GB microSD and US$199 for the 2GB miniSD. I thought that wasn't bad until I saw that a 2Gb SD card goes for US$105 these days. Yup, my next Pocket PC will come with an SD slot (I hope :worried .

That's what I said too until I bought my miniSD equipped Audiovox (HTC) 6700 from Sprint. It had all the other features I needed and I had to bite the bullet. Sometimes we have no choice in the matter

sweet. one just wonders, whats the theoretical storage limitation of these cards using current technology? we must be getting close to have 1gb on one of those transflash size cards!!!!
