Move Over PSP: iRiver's G10 is Coming.....
"We finally got a pic and a few more specs on iRiver's G10 WiBro game console we told you about a few months back. . . . [I]t appears like iRiver's "PSP killer" will sport an 800 x 480 pixel 260k color display, pack in 4 or 8GB of storage, and run Windows CE 5.0. . . . [T]hat WiBro connection will not only be used for online gaming and game downloads, but also provide access to a new iRiver music and movie service allowing subscribers to purchase content, store it in provided webspace, and then stream it to their G10."
It certainly looking like a very nice bit of kit. Other places have reported that the G10 will be running WM5, but CE 5.0 is much more likely. The WiBro support suggests that the G10 will be targeted mainly at Asia (as Korea will be the first country to have a WiBro (Wireless Broadband) network toward the middle of the year, running at 30 to 50 Mbit/s with a radius up to 5km. Seems like the cool devices and technologies always come out in another country, wherever you live.

It might well beat the PSP on paper, but it needs the market penetration and the publicity before it'll get anywhere. Nice toy otherwise.

My thoughts exactly. It looks like a nice little unit, but I seriously doubt it will hardly be a PSP killer.

Wi-Bro is a Korea only. the US dosnt need another wireless standard - and everyone knows it. SURE, its based on WiFi, but are t hey really going to either deply such a thing in the US or make a G10 with just plain ole WiFi... doubtful.
You never know, but dont count on it.

I hope there's some ability to flip that screen downwards (though looking at the other Engadget screenshot, it appears to be strictly a slide-out design).
It would be a shame that a device like this, with its moving/sliding parts, leave a screen of that resolution exposed at all times.

I think it'd be wiser to question the availability of games. They can already get quite advanced, but the range is lacking. Look at how many awesome games are available for the PSP, but not for Windows Mobile or CE.

Unfortunately, nothing more is known other than what has already been mentioned at Engadget.
