WebIS Purchases FlexWallet From Two Peaks
"Web Information Solutions, Inc. (WebIS) today announced it has acquired the full assets of the FlexWallet 2006 line of secure information management software from Two Peaks Software...As part of the WebIS family of products, FlexWallet will receive continuing enhancements and full customer support. There will be a transition period of one week before the WebIS branded FlexWallet will be available from WebIS distributors. Current FlexWallet customers can visit http://www.WebIS.net/flexwallet for more information."
Whoa, that's a significant purchase. 8O I guess WebIS (the maker of Pocket Informant) is making a move to become a complete information management company for Pocket PCs, as opposed to just a PIM. If Alex & co. can keep up their great work, this will be good news for FlexWallet customers. 8) If you're one, make sure to check out the link above -- there's information on planned changes, including registration codes.

:rock on dude!:
Maybe this will let Two Peaks focus on some of their other products. Trip Tracker, Billrate, and Personal health come to mind as not having received any updates in an infinitely long time.

It's a very strange move as all of Two Peaks other products (except maybe Designer Today Themes) are all focused on information management as well.

We considered the other Two Peaks software packages as well and they are worthy of acquisition. However it would be too big to swallow time wise. They'd not get the attention they deserved. FlexWallet on the other hand I know we can do.

I've had flexwallet for 3-years going through two worthwhile upgrades. Unfortunately I can't say the same for Personal Vehicle Manager. Bought it end of 2004 based on positive, reliable experience with flexwallet. Thought it'd be a convenient way to track vehicle mileage for biz tax purposes. In June, ran into first instance of a corrupted database (for PVM only, all other progams/databases continued to work fine). In October happened again. Finally removed it from my h4150 for good. There's an opportunity Alex -- please create a reliable vehicle manager!
Cheers

(Slightly off-topic): aquanaut, have a look at DDH's HanDBase and look through their gallery of pre-created databases. You might find what you want there.

I've got a full wallet set up in CodeWallet. I got tempted by Ilium's Ewallet and bought it - and hardly started creating a new wallet, so went back to CodeWallet.
The problem with all the wallet programs is that there's no conversion capability in any of them. Maybe Alex will do something along those lines, so that I can cross to FlexWallet easily.

Ilium has a free card importer that supports the formats of CodeWallet, FlexWallet, SplashID, TurboPasswords (Cloak), and even Excel spreadsheets.
I use eWallet and have always used it, however with WebIS developing this maybe it'll improve to the point where I like Flexwallet more. The lack of an import capability is definitely a hurdle to adoption though.

I had similar problems with Personal Vehicle Manager and wrote to their help forum. They replied the next day and told me how to fix my problem and my PVM has worked perfectly since then. They directed me to this website that discusses corrupted database issues and told me read #10 http://www.twopeaks.com/PVM/faq.aspx. I also found that when I downloaded the program I had to follow their instructions to the letter or it didn't work properly. I don't know if that will help but thought I'd pass it on anyway.
