Sharp W-ZERO3 Pr0n
"We've been waiting patiently for our network of Japanese operatives to return to us with their first reports on the HTC Universal-killer Sharp W-ZERO3 Pocket PC device. While we're a tad disappointed we didn't get to fondle this thing ourselves with our own grubby little hands, Kenneth G over Tokyo snapped us a bunch of shots. Apparently the camera's not so hot on the thing (so what else is new?) and the screen's a little dark, but otherwise it's a fine piece of Japanese engineering. We're definitely inclined to believe him. But what the hell's up with the placement of that spacebar, eh?"
Fat chance we'll see the W-ZERO3 outside of Japan, so let's just settle for the pictures.

this being the first smartphone in japan - it was so popular that it basically sold out the first couple of days it came out. so much so that it can be found in the local auctions for twice the price!!
as for me, i tried playing with a display model, and inspite of me eagerly awaiting a smartphone - i didnt find it worth upgrading from an axim x50v (wm2003se).
for one, it is just not that customizable. there is no way to change the memory allocations (or is this the same for all wm2005?) - an because of this, a soft reset only gives usable RAM of only about 15MB-20MB!
another would be is that the CPU is TOO slow! i just cant go back to something slower than 600+
another would be is that there is no DOUBLE slot - and the only slot uses MiniSD (a far cry from the "standards" of CF and SD).
there is also no Bluetooth!!!
another problem that i find is that the buttons are easily pushable - that it becames cumbersome to use...
if you ask me, this would be quite recommended for new users - but it is still a far cry for power users...
*bummer*
PS: i dont know the power rating since it is not released anywhere - and im quite worried how long this thing would last if i use it BOTH as a PDA, and a phone at the same time

Yeah..believing on ipaq_wannable, this devise doesn't seem to break new grounds. Also looks like ppl there dont even try the devise with their hands before buying SUCH an expensive equipment.

Love the look, but no bluetooth is a bit insane. And what's up with the spacebar location as mentioned. That'd be hard to get used to.

Hey, this isn't a "Universal killer." It's not a clamshell. If anything, it would be a "K-Jam Killer"--they have the same form.
BTW, I'm not trying to start a war among the K-Jam folks, cause I don't own a K-Jam so I don't know it's specs, and I can't compare it with this new model. I'm only saying their form-factors are more comparable than the Universal's.

In this kind of form factor no bluetooth is just a shame, how the heck should i make a call?
Dont get me wrong, its a real nice phone but it cant be compared to the Universal, at least it should have had the 624MHz processor!!

Yea, a 624mhz processor in a VGA device that is also a phone. The battery would probably last a whopping 22 minutes
