Default Launch of Microsoft Solution for Hosted Messaging and Collaboration 3.5

http://www.microsoft.com/serviceproviders/solutions/hostedmessaging.mspx

Microsoft is offering a hosted messaging solution for small and mid-size companies that aren't willing to install and maintain an in house messaging solution but want to move beyond POP3 accounts from outside providers.

There are a number of new features in the current release, including enhancements for mobile devices, like direct push email, remote device wipe and other enhancements brought by SP2 for Exchange. To take advantage of those features, you need Windows Mobile 5 devices with the currently unavailable Microsoft Security Feature Pack, expected to be released by carriers and device manufacturers this winter.

Technically Microsoft is offering a bundle of existing server technologies to companies that want to offer hosting services to SMBs.

So the solutions above are for hosting companies, not SMBs. But SMBs can take advantage of these solutions at a cheaper cost than trying to host them themselves.
