Default Bluetooth To Adopt Ultra Wideband - Coming in 2007

http://bluetooth.weblogsinc.com/ent...34000020069696/

"By the third quarter of 2007, the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) will have updated its roadmap to compatibility with UWB technology to by concentrating on media-access control (MAC) layers, improved security features, higher data rates, and improved quality of service. The newest cores will be designed with making interoperability with UWB a major component."

Some interesting news out of the bluetooth camp. If it's anything like the adoption of other BT components, the date may say 2007 - anyone want to guess when it would actually start being used by consumers?

Excellent! I know there was some talk of Bluetooth incorporating UWB a while back, and I'm glad to hear that it is progressing. Now, we just need agreement on UWB...

Depends on if/when the manufacturers/OEMs/carriers decide to push it.

Remember: the typical human cannot think for himself/herself.

Sure, I'll hazard a guess. It will be used by non-Microsoft OS using non-USAians in 2007. Some time later for the remainder ;-)
