PocketWeather 1.2 Released

A new version of PocketWeather has just surfaced, building upon the excellent features offered in the previous v1.1. The latest v1.2 release now includes support for animated images and multiple proxy configurations, as well as a collection of bug fixes and minor feature enhancements. It's a free update for all users of PocketWeather. If you've yet to try it, head over to Handango and download a free trial version. The full version can be purchased for $9.95. [Affiliate]

Very cool, but I'm not sure I need to pay to get weather reports on my PDA.
I use the Environment Canada weather service's pda-friendly site -
http://www.weatheroffice.pyr.ec.gc.ca/pda/
and any convenient wireless hotspot for pretty much the same thing (okay, maybe not animated maps and without the Today plug-in)...

That's not a bad site, but I know I'm not always near hotspots.
And, how about multiple cities at the same time? Any image you want to see, including radar and traffic cams? Tons of detailed weather data?
I love weather apps, and have used about a dozen over the years, both free and commercial, and Pocket Weather just keeps getting better with each new release. And, unlike most of the others, it's constantly being developed.
As an SBSH product, it also has tremendous support.
It may not be for everyone, but it's quickly becoming the best weather app on the market for those weather buffs like me.

no v1.2?
Handango is only offering v1.2 at the moment, apparently.

You mean v1.1? Hmm, interesting. Either Handango's really chuggin' right now, or SBSH hasn't updated their application on Handango yet. You can download v1.2 from here though: http://www.sbsh.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=7393

I'm terribly sorry for the delay, we've just updated the file on Handango servers to the latest version 1.2 too

Has anyone tried this new version yet?
It doesn't install on my X51v. Anyone get it to work on such a machine?

Hi ronb
Can you tell me what error are you seeing when trying to install the new version on your X51v device? We have many users using it on a X51v device, so I'm sure this is something that we will be able to resolve ASAP B)

Using V1.2 Build 1553, installing to "Device".
Starts "installing .cab" on PPC, progress bar doesn't advance before it goes to "Installation of SBSH.net Pocketweather.cab was unsucessful"; sometimes it goes to a "We're Sorry ..."/"A problem has occurred with gwes.com"/"Don't Send"/"Send" screen first.
Icon part install work. I've used "Remove Programs" to remove it when attempting to reinstall.
