Default Futuremark Releases 3D Graphics Benchmarking Tool for Mobile Platforms

http://www.futuremark.com/pressroom...eleases/?102705

"Futuremark Corporation today announced 3DMarkMobile06, a demanding graphics performance benchmarking application for companies developing 3D mobile-device hardware. 3DMarkMobile06 is the only product designed specifically to benchmark next generation OpenGL ES 1.0 and 1.1 mobile hardware."

It was bound to happen. Pocket PCs have evolved over the past few years to where most high-end devices now ship with their own dedicated graphic accelerators and with more and more 3D games being made available as of late, it was only a matter of time before quality benchmarking tools would appear as well. Any serious PC gamers out there should immediately recognize Futuremark as a qualified expert in the field of 3D benchmarking. The question to me is whether Windows Mobile devices can ever seriously challenge the current players in the handheld gaming arena: Nintendo and Sony.

Not as long as Pocket PC manufacturers keep putting out Pocket PCs with controls and buttons arranged for business use. I haven't seen a good gaming Pocket PC in terms of controls since the Casio E-150 and EM-500.

I have always thought it would be a good idea to make the buttons arrangable. You know? Like panels that are switchable on the top and bottom...
