FCC Approves the O2 XDA Atom
Notable specifications: Windows Mobile 5, Tri-band GSM, GPRS/EDGE, 2.7" Screen, miniUSB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, mini-SD (it's a fact of life now... we might as well get used to it). For once, this is NOT an HTC unit, but a Quanta unit. There's no official announcement about this device being sold in the US despite receiving FCC approval. Check out the link for more images and labels. Thoughts?

This is the second reference I've seen to this not being an HTC machine. There has been a lot of confusion, but this http://msmobiles.com/news.php/4400.html seems to confirm that it is a Quanta (not Quantra) unit and not the HTC Athena.

The giveaway here would be that the FCC documentation clearly says it is made by Quanta...! Rather more significant evidence than the paranoid ramblings of the unfortunate at msmobiles. FTR - the first site to call Quanta as the makers of the Atom seems to have been www.theunwired.net
I believe this may be only the second ever Pocket PC built by Quanta (the Pocket Loox 600 was a Quanta unit). Unless anyone knows of any others?

Mini-SD AND it's not quad-band? At least it makes it an easier choice between this and the E-TEN M600. Bummer. The Atom looks like such a cool device!

Works well here. Although I'd be edging towards the E-TEN M600 or i-mate K-JAM for the quad-band.
