Brighthand Reviews the Dell Axim X51v
"Dell has updated its flagship Pocket PC -- the Axim X50v -- with the latest version of Windows Mobile and more memory.The result is the Axim X51v, an outstanding device that offers just about everything a handheld user could want, like a VGA screen, WiFi and Bluetooth, and two types of memory card slots. Brighthand has just given the Axim X51v a test run -- the review is broken up into multiple sections giving a brief overview on topics such as persistent storage, the device's form factor and VGA screen, and using the device for wireless networking. More information here.

Is it true that ppc can't sync by bluetooth or wifi like palms can? wondered if wm5 solves that ? If so, why is that?

You should be able to with Bluetooth. The problem lies in the fact that ActiveSync 4 (at least in its current form) doesn't allow synching via WiFi, and all WM5 devices require AS4.0 or newer to sync. If you have an older device and AS3.8 or lower, you're ok to sync via WiFi.

You absolutely CAN sync via Bluetooth, even with ActiveSync 4. WiFi, as mentioned, only works on 3.8 or below for stupid and pointless reasons known only to Microsoft.

I guess this is a nice update but it's not enough reason for me to try and upgrade from my x50v.

Yeah, that's the general consensus for current X50v owners. The extra bit of ROM and the Windows Mobile 5.0 upgrade certainly isn't worth the extra $400+. Besides, you'll be getting the new OS on the X50v, which effectively negates that X51v advantage.
