Cicero Networks Releases Dual-Mode Cellular / VoIP SoftPhone Solution
"Cicero Networks Ltd., a leading developer of wireless Voice over IP (wVoIP) solutions and a pulver 2005 company, today announced the launch of CiceroPhone � a converged softphone which supports both VoWi-Fi and Cellular calls. Optimised to run on a range of wireless devices including Wi-Fi enabled mobile phones and PDAs, CiceroPhone enables fixed-line operators and alternative service providers to offer their enterprise and residential customers cost-effective wireless VoIP services."
Back in mid-July, I posted on a joint-initiative between Samsung and LG referred to as UMA (Universal Mobile Access) where cellphones would be able to leverage Wi-Fi and VoIP technologies to extend cellular coverage. Cicero Networks looks to leap that technology gap by providing an enterprise-level software solution that manages both cellular and VoIP calls using your WiFi-enabled PPCPE device. CiceroPhone is really only one piece of the overall solution, which include centrally managed Cicero server and connector components. More information on the full solution can be found here.

can this be used with the stanaphone service... because their software on hp phone is garbage

Now this I will pay to see, as a side freak show of course. HP can't get their phone to work correctly but these guys can make VOiP work and the phone too, ain't that something.

If I understand their product correctly, this is a client/server set-up, with the actual PPCPE software being the client. So someone, either an enterprise (for business) or a carrier (for residential), has to stand-up the Cicero controller for this to work.
