Default Mobile Gadget News Reviews the Nextlink Bluespoon 5G Bluetooth Headset

http://www.mobilegadgetnews.com/ind...?showtopic=9550

"I have been a huge fan of Nextlinks Bluespoon brand of Bluetooth headsets for a while now. I have been using a Bluespoon AX for a year, and love it. It has everything I wanted in a headset; loud volume, comfortable fit, and inconspicuous design. The Bluespoon AX was the smallest headset in the world, until the Bluespoon 5G came along. So it was with great excitement that I began testing the Bluespoon 5G, the worlds smallest Bluetooth headset. Weighing in at just 5 grams, hence the 5G name, the 5G is not only extremely small but extremely light."

You may recall a review from PocketNow that we posted on previously regarding this tiny little headset. Now, Mobile Gadget News has jumped into the fray with their review as well. If you have some cash to burn... er... I mean... if you have a LOT of cash to burn on a new headset, this may be your cup of tea at $399 USD!! Anyone else get to try this? Let us know.

I'll stick with my $45 AX.

It's really small on it's own and I'm afraid of losing it...Imagine with something THAT small! And THAT price?! I cant see buying a headset that costs as much/more than my phone!

I have a Bluespoon Ax. Has anyone tried getting one to work with a bluetooth USB dongle? I would like to use mine for VOIP with my laptop. I tried it quickly the other night with a Belkin bluetooth USB dongle, but didn't have any luck.

Its a damn shame that at that price they didnt give the prototype to a designer to improve its looks - it is ugly! And a 2 hour battery life? Come on! This is miniturisation for the sake of it!

Just who who be mad enough to buy one!

Default Too much for me

This is too expensive to be a practical use device.

Hmmm... $400USD for this, or the hands I was born with, for free...

I own one of these and LOVE it. I was one of the beta testers for this piece so my price was a bit over half of the retail price.

Miniaturization... isn't that the point? To continually advance the technology in order to make them as small and sleek as possible? I'd rather have this sleek little earpiece in my ear than some big stupid clunky looking thing that so many people wear these days.

As far as limited battery life is concerned - they include four small batteries, so you can change them out. But what do you expect from an earpiece this small? Until we have next gen battery tech, there's always going to be a balance between size and battery life. But for me, as long as I have the four tiny batteries, I'm fine with that in order to have the world's smallest, lightest BT earpiece. Nextlink is always searching for better and better batteries.

$400 is very expensive, but if you're aware of what goes into making these pieces along with the fact that this is the most bleeding edge BT earpiece in the world right now, you'd have a much better understanding of why it costs so much.

And I happen to love the looks - Nextlink makes the best looking BT earpieces out there - the other brands are what I consider anywhere from unattractive to butt-ugly. But as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
