Default Windows Mobile Team Blog on Windows Mobile Memory

http://blogs.msdn.com/windowsmobile.../19/453784.aspx

"I had a request that I do an entry on the differences between RAM, ROM, NAND, and NOR. Because this is much easier and less controversial than the next entry I was planning, I'll take the path of least resistance and do it first...Why do I care? When you go to buy a WM device, you're going to see RAM and ROM numbers advertised on the web page. I'm here to give you enough information to make an informed choice."

Mike Calligaro has another informative article over on the WM Team Blog, this time about memory and Pocket PCs. Whether you're a new user or a power user, the article is a good read.

Terriffic article with lots of good information and explanations. His blog on Persistent Storage is good as well. It is here: http://blogs.msdn.com/windowsmobile/...14/438991.aspx

Would have been nice if he had pointed out why ROM has become the same as RAM in spite of their different roots. Even a mention of EEPROM would have been a nice bridge ...
