Default Bluetooth 1.2 in Future Mio GPS Pocket PC

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/08/19/mio_a201/

"Mio's next GPS-enabled PocketPC will feature Bluetooth 1.2 wireless connectivity, according to the Bluetooth Qualification Program (BQP) website. Dubbed the A201, little else is known about the device beyond the fact it has a built-in GPS receiver, as per Mio's current GPS PocketPC offerings. The product qualification filing was made by the device's manufacturer, Mitac, which supplies the devices to its own spin-off company, Mio."

The A201 could well be MiTAC's update to the aging Mio 168 and 168RS. It's about time they stuck in Bluetooth, but where's the v2.0 specification? 8)

By the way, BQP's plug on the A201 can be found here.

The main difference is the introduction of an EDR of 2.1Mbit/s, though there are some other major changes such as lower power consumption and improved BER performance.

Actually, if you're interested. Wikipedia is a good resource for this sort of thing.
