Bitty Browser Bridges the Gap Between Desktop and Handheld Internet Content
"Bitty is the little browser that goes on any Web page. It's like Picture-in-Picture for the Web."

Normally, we'd be focusing on optimising desktop content for handheld devices, but what about optimising handheld content for desktop devices? That's where the Bitty browser comes in. Bitty is an embedded browser that sits on any webpage, and can be used to open up any website, podcast or RSS feed - and yes, that includes handheld-optimised content. I can see something like this being of interest to web developers, so if you're in that boat, head over to Bitty for the full lowdown. They even have a demo running on their site, so be sure to have a play around with it.

Interesting idea, but I don't see many real uses for it. Not the most impressive thing. I'd rather have it change the User Agent to a handheld device so you can get that format on your desktop. It seems to be just a frameset page with some javascript to put it all together.

Of course this puts the responsibility into the webpage developers hands, which frankly, I don't have much faith in.
