The HTC Apache - In Black!
Mobile01 has a few pictures of a black HTC Apache, which in my opinion, is a little more of an eye-opener than the standard silver.

Honestly, if it came in PINK I would still be looking, drooling, and trying to find a buyer for my 6601......

I took fine arts 101 in college and I think that photo is a little misleading. I forgot the term, but taking a picture like that makes the parts closest to you look really big while the parts farther away look really small. It adds depth to most images/paintings. I want to say 'forshortening' but I'm not sure. It would have been better to have the fingers holding the phone towards the front of the picture, it would have given a better representation of the actual thickness. Just my two cents.

Almost perfect device
I really really like the hardware design of this unit.
I prefer the silver one though.
The one thing I think should be changed is the location of the windows and OK keys. I think they should be located where the two softkeys are right now. This would correspond with their placement within the WM5 UI.
While it would be easier to push the two softkeys if they would be right next to the joystick.
Of course I am out of luck as a european. And I think the GSM versions are by far less stylish and also quite underpowered with their 200 Mhz processors. :-(((

Although the pictures might not be 100% accurate, but its at least 50% thicker than my JAM... dont think i can get used to, if i will have a PPC that thick then the HTC UNIVERSAL is the perfect choice!! :way to go:

Magician: 108.2 mm x 58 mm x 18.2 mm
Apache: 4.5 (112mm) x 2.5 (62.5mm) x 1 (25mm) inches
Its only 1/3 thicker.

It's a tad think but I think I'll have to see it first. It's nice to see Sprint getting another PPC because I feel that the don't get the "cooler" or feature rich phones like T-Mobile or Cingular.
I have a friend whos wife works for MS and said that October (the launch of WM 5) will be the month of all the Smartphone/PDA stuff. Of course, we'll probably know what devices are available well before then thanks to the guys who comb the FCC website.
I like my Dell but I'm interested in how well a converged device will work for me. This might be able to entice me to try...but only if the battery life is good, which I'm guessing isn't going to be the case.
