More Number Crunching Goodness with Resco Sudoku
"The goal is to fill in the empty cells, one number in each, so that each column, row, and region contains the numbers 1 through 9 exactly once. Each number in the solution therefore occurs only once in each of three "directions" (wikipedia)."
Yes, Sudoku is all the rage these days, so here's another release for the Pocket PC - Resco Sudoku. It features a puzzle generator with six difficulty levels, a puzzle solver, a pencil marking system, statistics, and the ability to load and save games. It is available for $14.95 from Handango. Does Mastersoft SuDoku have the ability to save games? I can't find it on their site.

No, the Mastersoft SuDoku doesn't currently support saving and loading of games in progress, but I understand that it soon will.
On just about every other count, though, I have to say that the Mastersoft version trumps this Resco implementation. Resco's number entry method is clunky and awkward in comparison; memo numbers cannot be added manually in Resco (you can either elect not to show them at all or have them unreliably updated automatically as you add numbers); Mastersoft has a number of pleasing "themes" to alter the board colour, whereas Resco is stuck with the dull appearance from the screenshots.
Resco does not support entering your own puzzles.
I'm basing my comments on the trial version of the Resco software (although I have no reason to suppose that any features other then the ability to play levels other than "very easy" are enabled on purchase); when the Mastersoft version is the same price, I can see absolutely no reason at all to choose the Resco version.

There goes Resco's one advantage.

I should perhaps clarify my earlier post - Mastersoft's program will automatically save your game in progress when exiting, and loads it back to its previous state when relaunching. Just no present ability to save a game in progress, tackle another then resume the first.

Oh my poor eyes.
Guess they need a designer at Resco?

Short of having it display numbers black against a black background, it could not be much more difficult to read.
