Default Sprint to Sell the HTC Apache?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/vie...p=141857#141857

Some interesting rumors are brewing over on xda-developers.com -- namely, that the Audiovox PPC-6700 won't be just a refresh of the PPC-6600 (otherwise known as the HTC Harrier), but instead the new HTC Apache. (The Apache is the CDMA version of the HTC Wizard -- HTC's "new" very compact Pocket PC Phone with a landscape keyboard.) Another poster took a few blurry pictures of the device; the carrier's name is covered with tape, but it's speculated that the tape would not be tall enough to cover the Verizon logo.

If this is the case, Sprint PCS users will have something to cheer about -- the Apache looks like one sweet device, and it's slated to run WM5. All of this isn't officially confirmed, but we can certainly hope. 8)

Why is it that no one with these secret devices know how to work the macro setting on their digital camera?

Judging by the blurriness of these pics, I bet they were taken with a cameraphone in the first place. But yeah, I still don't get how people can take non-macro shots with advanced cameras. :|

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm very interested in the upcoming Wizard, but this device definitely looks good...and Sprint should allow for EVDO. Maybe my run with T-Mobile is going to come to an end...

But in my case CDMA is no good even though the US is behind in these stuff but Canada is even more  so basically i've to stick to a GSM PPC to have an up to date device... so most probably i will wait for the Universal

That is an intersting statement. Because I am on Verizon (and have to be because of it being a business account), and I think that the GSM version looks better. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side.

the only thing that I don't like about this device is the mini SD card. I was really looking forward to that Pretec 4gb sd card. I think that will make me wait a little bit longer for a CDMA version of the HTC Universal. I just really want that VGA screen.

I HATE the idea of just mini SD... is it that they r just trying to narrow our choices in everything.. CF to SD to miniSD, that sucks...

Frankly speaking i'm gonna wait for the Universal too, but dont think for the CDMA version, coz its not just the as soon as its available commercially we will be able to get it, but it has to be provided by the carriers which even complicates it more in North America
