Default FileUtils PPC 1.0 Released

http://www.jobrosoftware.se/product...leutilsppc.html

"FileUtils PPC is a Swiss Army Knife when it comes to file manipulation on your Pocket PC. This multi-tool includes a number of utilities that are very useful when working with files. These utilities are included in the program: Merge (combine a number of files to one), Split (split a file into a number of segments), Rename (rename a number of files at once), Replace (replace text in a number of files at once), ByteSwap (change the byte order in a number of files at once), LFConvert (change between Windows, Unix and Mac line feeds in a number of files at once), and Compare (compare files binary or as text files)."

FileUtils PPC, a fully-featured file manipulation utility, is well-priced at $5.00. The trial and full versions are both available from Handango. [Affiliate]

Does sound like a very powerful piece of software it you need it's capabilities. Pardon my ignorance, but how would you use "ByteSwap (change the byte order in a number of files at once)"?

The LFConvert would be very handy in some cases. Perhaps the remane and replace as well. As for the rest I don't think i woudl need them. maybe the compair.
$5 is with in my software splurge budget though. I might pick it up.

Hi!

I'm the author of FileUtils PPC and I simply wanted to answer pmradio's question about what ByteSwap can do for you.
This feature can convert files between the formats used by some UNIX dialects (such as SunOS or Solaris) and the other format used by Windows and Linux etc.

More specifically, one of the formats (don't know which) writes the most significant byte before the least significant byte (when writing 16-bit words to memory) and the other writes the least significant byte first.

Hope that this is enough explanation, otherwise you are welcome to contact me.

Thanks for stopping by! I must admit, it makes sense in theory...just glad I don't have to mess with that feature. Thanks, again!
