Default Geekzone Reviews the Airscanner Encrypter for Pocket PC

http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.a...?ContentId=4848

"You probably read about cases of owners losing their PDA or Smartphones with very important or confidential information stored on the devices memory. Not hard to imagine this can happen to anyone... One effective way of making information available to authorized users but still keeping it from prying eyes is using encryption programs. In this article we check the capabilities of Airscanner Mobile Encrypter for Pocket PC... Airscanner Mobile Encrypter for Pocket PC is an easy to use encryption software. After installation on the Pocket PC it can be configured to initiate when the Pocket PC is soft reset, or be executed on demand by the user."

As Pocket PCs become more and more visible in the enterprise, the concern over securing the data on the device rises. For any of you looking for a secure encryption solution to protect you in the event your device is stolen, you'll want to check out this review of Airscanner Encrypter. There are two ways to encrypt your files with AS Encrypter: encrypt specific folders/files or create an encrypted volume. The review itself is short and basic, but if you're familiar with similar encryption solutions for the PC (personally, I've been using Cryptainer on my PCs), then you should find the concepts to be quite similar. For anyone interested, you can purchase AS Encrypter from Handango for $29.99 USD [Affiliate Link]. Unfortunately, no trial is available.

What the heck does "Mount Volume" mean? That's a pretty user-unfriendly menu choice if you're not an IT pro. I haven't read the review; maybe it explains the concept. I can think of a couple of possible meanings but it's not obvious to me.
