Pocket PC Magazine Announces the 2005 Nominees
"Pocket PC magazine's Best Software Awards � the most comprehensive awards for Pocket PC and Smartphone software � is now in its fifth year; and the 2005 Nominees have just been announced! New Products Editor, Diane Dumas, and the 2005 Board of Experts have selected the nominees from Pocket PC magazine�s exhaustive Encyclopedia of Software and Accessories. Over 493 Nominees, in 122 categories have been selected. Nominations are now open to public comment until July 15, 2005 when they will be frozen."
Pocket PC Magazine has just announced the nominees for this year's Best Software Awards. From now until July 15, the nominations are open for public comment, and if you feel a couple of unlisted applications should be in the list of nominees, you're more than welcome to forward your suggestion through the Nominations Suggestion form. Over 493 Nominees, in 122 categories have been selected. Nominations are now open to public comment until July 15, 2005 when they will be frozen.

The awards are divided into three sections:

From July 1, 2005 through July 15, 2005 the nominations are open to feedback from the general public and are open to modification. The final list of nominations will be frozen July 15 and published shortly thereafter at www.pocketpcmag.com/awards

These nominations are frozen on July 15, 2005, and only products and versions released by July 15, 2005 are eligible for the voting.
Eighty-three experts in Pocket PC and Smartphone software from around the world help select the nominations and then vote for winners. These experts are prominent Web Sites associates, Microsoft MVPs, support forum contributors, and Pocket PC magazine contributors. Their qualifications can be view from the board of experts page. These are all volunteers and none who vote are employed by Pocket PC magazine. Developer Software nominations are determined by a team of experts headed by Christian Forsberg of www.businessanyplace.net and Bob Katayama of www.han-d-solutions.com.
The Board of Experts cast votes to determine the winners. Winners and finalists are the top vote getters. These experts also submit comments about the software for publication in 2006 issues of Pocket PC magazine.

Suggest your favorite software
There is so much good Windows Mobile software out there, selecting the proper list of nominations is the biggest challenge of our annual Best Software Awards (this is our fifth year). Diane Dumas, Pocket PC magazine New Products Editor, and our board of experts, http://www.pocketpcmag.com/awards/bo...perts_2005.asp have spent May and June coming up with nominees for Best Smartphone, Pocket PC, and Developer Software. There is a LOT of software out there so it is very easy to miss worthy products. We would like to nominate the top 15% of software.
Last year and this, we decided to open up the nominations process to the public for two weeks, July 1-15. Check out our nominees at www.pocketpcmag.com/awards. Did we miss any of your favorites?
