Default FirstLoox Updates VGA Pocket PC Comparison Chart

http://www.firstloox.org/VGAppc.htm

I've always liked FirstLoox's VGA Pocket PC comparison chart: it's a succinct collection of the VGA-compliant Pocket PCs and their features. Duncan wrote in to let us know that they've updated the chart with all the newer units, and in fact have included future WM5 units. For example, the Universal is in there now, and they've gathered up all the data from many sites to fill out its specifications. In short, if you're looking to buy a VGA Pocket PC, this site should probably be first on the list.

Very nice chart. Thanks for the links.

Also, it never occured to me how very similar Loox and MyPal in regards with HW design (i.e. right down to the button layout). Very interesting. I wonder if their connectors are the same. Hmmm.

Sort of. Though the Loox 720 and Asus a730 are made by different people (HTC and AsusTek) they both retain compatibility with previous models - including the Loox 610 and Asus a716 - which were both, effectively, the same Pocket PC (made by AsusTek).

That said - there are minor differenced between the Loox 720 connector and those of the Loox 420 and 610 (meaning that not all cables are compatible withe all models) so while some cables should work on both the Loox 720 and Asus a730 - there is no guarantee.

Or were you referring to the Fujitsu Loox v70? That is virtually identical to the Asus a730w (except for lacking Bluetooth) - with both being made by Asus.

I have both Loox 720 and Asus A730W right here right now, and they aren't exactly the same. Can't switch the cables easily, and I'm not going to try very hard!

Yep... Loox v70. Never saw this before that's why I was curious. But that Loox 720 compatibility with MyPal 730 is another surprise to me. Thanks.

a730 accessories that work with the LOOX 720

Both internally and externally they are very, very different - being made by different manufacturers - but they largely retain sync port compatibility.
