"An action adventure set in the mysterious Crypt of the Ancients. Use deadly weapons and devastating magic as you traverse an immense 25 level subterranean world to stop the rising evil before it is too late. Presented in a 3D isometric view, Ancient Evil uses high quality graphics and real-time lighting and directional shadows to create the most detailed and visually appealing adventure RPG ever seen on a Pocket PC device. Dozens of 3D, realistically animated, enemy creatures are provided for your enjoyment and demise. Real-time particle and lightning engines are used to enhance your gaming experience, providing special effects such as fire, smoke, blood and magical spells. Explore a fully interactive world where books can be read and beds can be slept in. Digital sounds and music enhance the atmosphere. Begin your character with the basic skills, and specialize in either spell casting or melee combat. Enhance his attributes as you battle fearsome monsters and cast spectacular magical spells."
Coming from a pencil and paper RPG background - I have vivid memories of getting the Red box D&D set when I was 11 - anything involving swords and sorcery invariably makes it's way onto my Pocket PC. The demo video for this game looks great (don't watch it embedded in the page, download it) - I'm impressed to see the fluid level of action, and there's going to be a VGA version, hopefully optimized for the Intel 2700G. The game looks like it was heavily influenced by Diablo - in fact, at the very end of the video clip there's a quote that should bring a smile to the face of anyone who's played Diablo before. ;-) If you pre-order if you can save 20% off the normal price and get a "free mystery game".

This looks pretty slick. I just pre-ordered and was able to select Pocket Commodore 64 as my free "mystery" game.

This looks very nice.
Ironic that this game pays a huge amount of homage to Diablo, which itself in turn owes it's existence to Rogue and Nethack.
Interestingly enough, there is a port of Nethack to the PPC:
http://www.freewareppc.com/games/nethack.shtml
If I were to be stranded on a desert island and could choose one game to take with me (PC or PPC) it would be Nethack. Infinitely replayable, I always keep coming to back to this game once I've had my fill of the eye-candy-of-the-week new PC/PPC/Console game.

being a hardcore Diablo fun - i just got to have this for my PPC (well, my wife has AOE for her Loox); i pre-ordered it...
watched the video - really Diablo-ish, and cant wait "scratching" my screen protectors because of playing time (i even had to skip work before because of Diablo... hehehehe...)
unfortunately, the mystery games werent to my liking - i was hoping for something else like Myst, or whatever... well, 20%-off is a good deal
PS: (maybe OT) btw, i paid using PayPal, and only did i find out that they charge a HIGHER CURRENCY EXCHANGE RATE than credit card/banks - by at least US$0.70 higher than market rates... hhhhmmmm... i guess no more PayPal for me...

Looks pretty cool. Actually kinda reminds me more of the The Summoning than Diablo.
