Motorola RAZR Pocket PC Phone Edition Coming?
"We received the specs of the latest Motorola RAZR and our PPCD member Dania declares the new RAZR to be running the latest Windows Mobile 5. Check out the leaked presentation by Dangaard Telecom (originally linked to Microsoft site) which shows the road map of Motorola and Qtek devices including the recently leaked S110."
The image below is just a mock-up, but it looks like a very interesting device, and if it's as slim as it looks, would be great competition for HP's Messenger product. I have a Motorola MPx200 Smartphone, and it's build quality is fantastic - if Motorola can bring the same consumer electronics build quality to a device like this, they could have a real winner on their hands.
[high res version with side view]
Specs indicate that it will be a quadband GSM device with EDGE wireless data, 128 MB of Flash ROM and 64 MB of RAM, a miniSD slot, and a 2.4" 320 x 240 screen. I'm not sure that last bit makes sense - the screen looks essentially square, so my hunch is that it's 240 x 240. The 1130 mAH battery is decent, and the 1.3 megapixel camera along with Bluetooth round out the offering. WiFi would be nice, but I'm not surprised to see it missing. On the Microsoft server (!!) there is a a 12 MB PowerPoint presentation with all the details that you can download with further details about this and other phones.

Oddly enough the screenshot appears to depict a VGA screen, not QVGA. :?

Well that's just a mock-up, so I wouldn't take that part seriously...

Yeah, but it still doesn't make sense compared to the alleged specs. Ah well, whatever the resolution this would be one kick ass device!

Doesn't that image look more like a Smartphone than a PPCPE?

It will be really nice if it can be PPCPE and only 240*240. 320*240 is too impossible for a lot of programs.

Someone needs an eye test - the screen is not square in the mock-up ... :-)

Battery life "4 hours"............ Say it ain't so?
To backup what Foo Fighter says it definitely has a Smartphone Today screen, not a Pocket PC.

Looks like a landscape QVGA screen. (320x240) But definitely appears to be smartphone.
Cool.
