Default XM Radio On Your Pocket PC

http://www.xstreamxm.com/mobile

An alert reader emailed today to let us know about an ultra-neat website for anyone who subscribes to XM Satellite Radio. While subscribers have had access to XM Online for free since April of this year, those of us who have wanted to listen on our Pocket PCs have been out of luck. Now a site has popped up that uses your XM Online login to form the correct streaming URL so that you can listen to XM Online through Windows Media Player! I've been playing with it for a few minutes and have no problems to report. Unfortunatly, streaming over GPRS is still a bit shakey. I guess you can't always get everything you want

I've been streaming over wifi now for a while... it's working great! I did have a few problems initially connecting - a pre-recorded voice would tell me that "the XM channel you're trying to receive is temoprarily unavailable... please log out and try again." But once I was connected, it was working great! I can see a lot of potential uses for me... the 'show off' value for my hx4705 just went up a notch!

Default XM Radio on PocketPC - a few problems

It would be nice to see some info on the music that is playing. Also, I cannot get any channel beyond 116. I am given an error message that says "Cannot play the file because the playlist is not valid".

Any suggestions?

Wow, this is so cool! It figures that XM radio would come out with something like this...

I want to get Sirius for some of the channels it offers that XM doesn't have, so I can't go with XM. Bummer. XM has the cooler hardware and much better portable units. Now there is a way to stream XM to your PPC!

C'mon Sirius! Get with the program!

Before I try this...is there any chance someone is getting my username and password for xm. Doesn't that also give them access to my creditcard information on xm's site?

I wonder if someone could do the same for Sirius streaming radio. Their site requires the use of flash to login and start listening to the stream...

Couldn't wait for this one.... I hooked it up and am listening as I type. It was a snap and since I am on a Lan line it is fast as true as can be. I vote also for the ability to see what channels are playing what how many. But it does say beta so I am expecting great things in the near future.

Actually, I don't think its XM Radio that did this. It sounds like a third party web site someone set up that, as Jon said, simply forms the correct streaming URL info.

I think you can set different passwords for the XM ecare site and the XM Online site.

I'm using PIEplus and wasn't able to login into the site, getting message that browser invalid.
It's only compatible with standard pocket pc browser.

Is there any way to de-activate PIEplus withour un-installing it ?
