Default Looking For A More Feature Packed VNC Client?

http://www.mochasoft.dk/vncce.htm

"Mocha VNC is an application for the Microsoft Windows Mobile platform (R) Platform (previous known as Pocket PC or just CE). It enables you to have full, secure access (if using SSH2) to your work computer through an Internet or network connection. "

Mochasoft has released a pretty powerful looking VNC client for those of you whom use VNC as your remote desktop server of choice. While freeware alternatives exist, this package looks to nicely include some extra perks, such as 3 screen-size compression modes and free upgrades. If you've been looking for a new VNC client, take a look and let us know what you think!

If you scroll down at that site, it list freeware alternatives to their pay product. You don't see that very often!

However, I tried to go through the order process (just for kicks) and found the following:

Quote:
The quantity (1) is less than the minimum (89) allowed.
Being a single end-user, I don't think I'll be ordering 89 copies of this product any time soon. 8O

I guess that explains the links to freeware.

Perhaps the company doesn't want to support single users.

I think that's a 'Bingo'. They probably have in mind a PocketPC-based tech support company or firm within a company. 89 is a lot though, and would seem to exclude small businesses as well.

Hmm... sounds like a foolish business move to me, as even small firms would probably not want to shell out for 89 copies at a time...

Well, hopefully in the future they'll reconsider.

No kidding. Our company doesn't even have 89 computers. Most of what we have is XP or Windows Server 2000 and 2003 that have built in RDP, but I have a few Windows 2000 Pro clients I need to remotely administer. Sigh... I learned the hard way the VNC server and client I have from 2001 or 2002 just aren't cutting it over GPRS.

It is a bug in their form. If you don't select the client on the righthand side of the form, it tells you you need to buy 89. You can select 1 as the quantity then "Singe User License - Windows Mobile" and it will take you to the order form. Downloading now for a test drive.
