Default PowerStatus 1.0 - Free Battery Meter

http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/powerstatus.shtml

Many of us are interested in our Pocket PC's battery level at all times This puts a small bar at the top of the screen, one that many of us are used to seeing in Pocket Plus, but this app is free and a very lightweight 3.5KB.

Works well, but you can't unload it without rebooting.

Nice little up could help me monitor memory leaks i am having since i need to softreset daily in order to free up like 8mb of ram.

However it could get better since i can see it self flashing when changing screens.(if the developer is reading this)

I've used it for a few weeks now. I really like it. It does flicker when something else redraws on that part of the screen but it's not too bad. It flickers the most then i'm dialing a gprs connection. The little animated arrows redraw like crazy.

I also like that when you are connected to ac power the batter meter cycles to indicate that you are charging. Kinda wish the one build into pocket plus would to that.

And the only way to exit is either reboot (doesn't work for me as i have it in my start up folder) or just use a task manager to kill the process.

For me, on my Ipaq 5555 with WM 2003, it does not show up in any task manager that I have and does not show up in the Start | Settings | Memory | Running Programs list.

Yeah, you'll have to have a process viewer. Regular task switchers will not see it.

I use ITaskMgr.
http://homepage2.nifty.com/qta/tpn/

or this really old, less featured version works well too.

http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/TaskMgr/

Just look for powerstatus.exe on the process tab of either of these apps.

tmail.exe = Pocket Inbox
upd2tcp.exe = Some kind of networking interface
rapisrv.exe = RAPI service
repllog.exe = Part of ActiveSync
rnaapp.exe = Internet connectivity?
poutlook.exe = Pocket Outlook (this will always launch when you run the calendar, tasks, etc.)
HH_dm.exe = ?
ARI_ENG.exe = ?
fe_wa.exe = I believe this has something to do with Bluetooth. Don't quote me on it, though.
connmgr.exe = The connection manager
services.exe = Runs service dlls in the background
shell32.exe = The system shell (today screen, taskbar, etc.)
srvtrust.exe = I believe this is some sort of security layer
device.exe = Handles most device drivers
gwes.exe = The Graphic, Window and Event subsystem. Provides MANY important APIs for applications to run
filesys.exe = Manages the device's file system and provides APIs for applications to load, save and manipulate files
nk.exe = The kernel

You have an ipaq don't you? :mrgreen:

They are in the startup folder. Not really sure what they do. I took them out once and rebooted. nothing bad happened but i put them back in just to be on the safe side.

If you want tmail.exe to go away just open inbox and close it again. It starts in the background everytime you activesync.

rnaapp will only be present if you are currently connected to something. Like sitting in the cradle, ethernet, wireless, dialup... (usually :mrgreen: )

if you go to the task tab and close activesync repllog will go away.

and all the stuff that Zidane said.

The rest of the stuff is kinda needed.

Edit: So basically you don't have anything running that is not supposed to be or that won't run itself at some point.
