Default Spb FreeCell Updated for Windows Mobile 5.0 Compatibility

http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/pro...ts/freecell/?en

"FreeCell is a very popular and well-known card game. The Pocket PC platform is ideal for this kind of simple, easy-to-play game. Many people were disappointed that FreeCell was not a standard built-in Pocket PC application. Our FreeCell game will be a worthy addition to your games collection. The object of the game is to move all the cards to the four home cells. Those who have already played FreeCell for Windows will feel quite at home with this Pocket PC version. There are 32,000 possible games, and you can select any game to play. Our FreeCell offers smart game statistics, where all information on all the games you have completed is shown. There is also an online service giving you a chance to publish your top scores and compete with other players."

Spb Software House has just released their Spb2005OK standard with Spb FreeCell being the first application to meet it. Some of the Spb2005OK requirements include: Pocket PC 2002 to Windows Mobile 5.0 compatibility, Windows Mobile logo certification, full VGA support (including VGA skins where appropriate), landscape screen support, signed CABs and EXEs, copy/paste support, ClearType and keyboard support in Today plugins, and much more. Spb FreeCell 1.5 is a free update to all existing 1.x users. For all new users, it can be purchased from Handango for $4.95. A trial version is also available. [Affiliate]

Either your Handango page is messed up, or my laptop is. I tried to use your link to buy this, and I get a blank page every time I try to fill in my credit card information. I've tried five times, now. I'll try again tomorrow, but I think the link is screwed up.

Nope, I tried it just then and it works flawlessly. You may need to hit F5 (again :lol. Also, ensure you have cookies enabled.

Nope, still doesn't work. I get to the page, check the buy thing, get the notice about a secure site, check OK, then a blank. Yesterday, I would get all the way to where you put in your visa, check visa, and get the blank. The first page opens fine. It's checking out that is messed up.

Very interesting. If you don't mind me asking, what browser are you using?

Plain vanilla IE. Of course, I just ran a registry fix yesterday, and my cookies may have been messed up, but I don't think so. I can get everywhere else.

I just tried it in both IE and Firefox and it works fine. I'm hoping your registry fix didn't do more harm than good?

Uh-oh. System Restore time, I think. The Registry Fix solved some really bad issues, but it seems to have overstepped its bounds, and I can't really tell one registry item from another. So, here we go again. I'll try this again after the restore.

ops:

System restore only restored all the old problems. I still can't access the checkout page. It goes blank when I get to the page that allows me to input my card. Could this be Norton?

edit: here's what I've tried. Disabled Norton, still didn't work. Allowed pop-ups, still didn't work. Tried another restore point, still didn't work. I guess I just can't get there from here. I simply cannot imagine why this just gives me a blank page. I have cookies out the ying-yang. There's a problem, and I just don't know any other way to try to resolve it. I don't really think it's my problem, now.

Edit again: Oops. it was my laptop. I still don't know what happened to it; nothing else has been affected. But I was able to connect and complete the purchase on a different computer. Sorry I was a hassle. ops:

I have the Spb Game Pack... any idea if it will be updated with the new version of FreeCell? Also, a long-standing deficiency in Spb FreeCell remains in this version... if you close the app, your game is lost. How could a developer that's so in tune with the needs of PPC users not write a game that saves its state on exit? I can't always play from start to finish without interruption, and this has always annoyed me. Even the built-in Solitaire game saves its state on exit. On behalf of bored meeting attendees everywhere, please fix this!
