Default Geekzone Geeks Up with Two More GPS Reviews

"This month I had the opportunity look at 3 GPS units from www.efrontier.co.nz. Intergen was hosting this months Windows Mobile User Group in Wellington, and for it had put up some great spot prizes, including the GlobalSat SD-501 SDIO GPS receiver. eFrontier also lent me demo units of the Leadtek 9534 Compact Flash GPS receiver and the latest GlobalSat Bluetooth GPS receiver, the BT-338. All three utilise GPS Chipsets from www.sirf.com, though each use a different one."

Fresh off their nice review of the Globalsat BT-338 that I posted on here several days ago, Geekzone puts together another couple of thorough GPS reviews, this time on two GPS card slot solutions in the Leadtek 9534 Compact Flash GPS Receiver and the GlobalSat SD-501 SDIO GPS Receiver. This time however, the reviews aren't quite as rave. Personally, I think I prefer having a separate unit such as the BT-enabled Globalsat BT-338. What do you guys think? Would any of you prefer these CF and/or SDIO solutions?

I have to vote for the CF GPS for my Hx4700.
I use the SD slot for 1-gig of 'permanent' storage, ebooks, and local maps.
I use the CF slot for other addons -
-GPS (store traveling maps on different SD cards and swap out as needed)
-Ethernet and modem CF cards for checking email when traveling.
-Builtin Wifi in the Hx4700 saved me buying that card.
-Also a 1.3mp CF flash camera (not used much).
-I have a 4-gig MD for movies and music.
-Use a 1-gig CD card for writing/storing backups.
I swap out the CF functions as I need them with very seldom ever having a situation of needing two at once.
I carry a gadget bag of the above when I travel and just pop in the CF item I need.
