A New iPAQ 63xx "Cousin" To Appear From Cingular
"I got a flyer today with an order I placed with HP shopping last week. In the flyer is listed the "h6325" with Cingular service. I know that Rogers of Canada is selling this already, but it looks like the Cingular release is coming very soon in the US. Here is a link to the scanned in image I took from the flyer..."
Alert Thoughts Reader Ted Fitch (seaflipper) sent us a nice scanned ad for the Cingular release of the h6300 series PPC-Phone Edition. It's interesting to me that as we are anxiously awaiting the mobile messenger, there are still rollouts of the "old and busted" 6300 to be had. Maybe one day a magical ROM update will decend from the sky and fix ALL of this device's oddities (Although the last one did a fair share of fixing...)?
Kudos to Ted for sending this in, and finding the information on hp.com to which this article links. Another 63xx is on its way to us in the U.S.

So.... other than the h6310/h6315 being offered by TMobile and the h6320/h6325 being offered by Cingular and Rogers Wireless, I don't believe there are any differences between the two products.
I am also wondering this because there is a ROM upgrade for the h6510/h6315 and was wondering it it would work on the h6325.
I have not wanted to try it because the h6325 that I have is a demo unit being used on the Roger Wireless network and I didn't want to screw up my service by applying the h6310/h6315 to an h6325.

$600 for a mediocre product? Cingular must be kidding!

I wouldn't think that a ROM upgrade for the 6315 would work, as that would be the t-mobile specific ROM. The generic ROM that HP released (It was for the h6340) may work. Anything that starts h63 will be the same insides, however some units have the camera and some don't. That's the only difference. HP assigned different model numbers depending on what carrier was going to carry the device.

Big Deal...
This device is already outdated. Why is Cingular JUST NOW offering this device?? Not only has Windows Mobile 5 been announced already and devices debuting with the OS this August, but there are also so many known issues with this device. The processor is incredibly slow and the call quality & reception is poor.
To put the icing on the cake, HP will NOT offer an upgrade to WM05 for this device.
Unreal... I'm waiting for the HTC Universal or hw6700.

I'd be happy if they'd offer an upgrade to WM2003SE for this device!
