Default GPS PAD 1.14 Released

http://www.handango.com/ampp/store/...8&productType=2

"GPS PAD is a combination of a notepad and GPS software with numerous analysis functions. Application areas include navigation for hiking, bicycling and car driving, log file analysis, traveling documentation, athletic efficiency control, acquisition of spatial data, geocaching, GPSdrawing and much more."

There have been quite a few GPS applications released/updated over the past couple of weeks, and it seems like this trend isn't going to end anytime soon. GPS PAD, which was just updated to v1.14, has a plethora of features worth poking a stick at, and on top of all that, it is claimed that it only consumes 620KB of memory and that it can also be installed on a storage card. I haven't put those claims to the test yet, but I'm sure some of you are eager to find it out for yourselves. The Pocket PC Thoughts software store has a trial version available for download, and if it's what you're after, $14.95 will grab you the full version. [Affiliate]

15 minutes before I opened the email blast on this (six hours after it came out - busy day) I was thinking how useful an app like this would be. I still need a BT GPS though.

Default Demo Issues

I downloaded the demo, but have a problem with the GPS coordinates. The program finds the gps (serial connected gps receiver), but doesn't seem to be able to read the coordiates. I use mapopolis with this same gps receiver without issue. Is this a problem or a limit of the demo? I also have a bluetooth gps, but haven't had a chance to try it yet. I use a Ipaq 5500. I plan on using this to monitor and record speeds while racing my sailboat. The speed tracking along with other data should provide the data I need to analyze the boats performance.

After a bit of playing around, and reading the manual, I got it to connect to my Emtac BTGPS via port 7.

It actually seems like a fairly nice bit of software but it is very frustrating to use in demo mode.
