Default VPA Compact Mini vs. Qtek S100

http://www.pocketpt.net/galeria/vie...bumName=CEBIT05

Pocketpt.net has put up some interesting comparison shots of the VPA Compact Mini vs. Qtek S100, acquird at CeBit 2005. Appears to me that the casing for the Qtek is slightly slimmer, albeit not much. Good comparison shots if you're looking to find the smallest Pocket PC Phone Edition you can!

Im a fan of the original design, but this darker version is also quite attractive.

The changes are only on the exterior, everything inside is the same. One problem i noticed is that the accessories(silicon case and leather case) will have to be different for this VPA, since the place for the mirror changes.

These photos were taken during CEBIT at Hannover, the gallery will be kept updated as soon as i can

Not only there will be photos of new PDA'S like this VPA but some pgotos of TOMTOM 5 and a Pocket PC with satellite tv connection

Just bookmark the gallery and check it often

Best Wishes

Yeah, now that we're seeing Pocket PC phones in a small and elegant form factor, I'm going to wait at least until the end of the year to see what else is released before I actually buy one to replace my Pocket PC/cell phone.

After finally comparing side by side I recently discovered the Magician's (S100/Mini/JAM) camera seems considerably worse than the one on the Blue Angel (S9090/MDA3/PDA2k) even though the smaller unit is supposed to have higher pixel resolution camera. At least that's how it looks when playing the MPEG-4 video captures on the desktop via QuickTime.

QT says the Magician QVGA video is 31KB/sec whereas the Blue Angel QVGA video is only 22KB/sec, but the latter definitely better, smoother video. For example a video shot on the Magician that's 4:50 long is around 9MB whereas a video shot on the Blue Angel that's 3:20 minutes long is only 4.5MB.

The Magician video has more noise and artifacting around the edges and breaks up more easily. I admit I only used the default video adjustment settings on the Magician though (constrast/brightness/hue/sharpness/etc).

The thing is, even the realtime video viewfinder on the Magician's screen looks considerably worse than on the Blue Angel screen, but I was hoping that's just the viewfinder...

I have the one on the right. Bought it at Expansys. It is the best mobile device I have ever owned by far. Not bad given I've blown my wages on at least 50 over the years ... just an awesome Pocket PC. But it's an awesome phone too. Near perfect (until the next thing comes along ;0).
