The Rage in PDA Accessories: The Wok!
"Make 2.4GHz parabolic mesh dishes from cheap but sturdy Chinese cookware scoops & a USB WiFi adaptor! The largest (300mm diam) shows 15-18dB gain (enough for a LOS range extension to 3-5km), costs ~US$5 & comes with a user friendly bamboo handle that suits WLAN fieldwork - if you can handle the curious stares!"
Somehow I don't think captures the essence of mobility, and I'm sure if you whipped out this setup whilst at your local Starbucks, you'd be a target for a huge bashing. But hey, if you don't mind the bruises and are looking to enhance your PDA's Wi-Fi signal, check this out. Stan Swan has more of his "toys" on show at his website here.

I always suspected my wok was holding out on me... I'll have to confront it later about not telling me it could be used to increase my wifi signal...

Does a wok still have to be properly seasoned when used as an antenna?

Well obviously it won't wok if you don't use it properly!

The site hosting the image seems to be under heavy load so I put up a mirror on my server:

No kidding, but I wonder if woks with a layer of non-stick protection affect the amplification of the Wi-Fi signal.
Edit: I just realised this wok doubles up as a great privacy screen. Two for the price of one!
