Fizz Traveller 2.1 Released
"Welcome to the award winning Fizz Traveller 2.1: your feature packed travel mate. Some of the best weather forecasts ever seen on a Microsoft mobile device can now be displayed on your Mobile Home Screen. Over 56000 world locations, world times, world alarms, daylight maps, itinerary trip help, currency conversions, general conversions, new graphics, themes, new simple interface & home screen support - this product is your absolute essential everyday and travel tool."

Fizz Traveller 2.1 for Pocket PC has just been released, and it looks great. If you want weather forecasts, maps, airport delays, world times, and much more, then Fizz Traveller appears to deliver the goods. The Pocket PC Thoughts store is currently offering a free trial version of the application, as well as the full version for $19.99. If you happen to own a Smartphone, you may want to check out the Smartphone version of Fizz Traveller 2.1 as well. It was released not too long ago.

Now I hate to be picky, but it's what I do best, how can something "be award winning" when it's only just been released :?:
This award winning post was brought to you by me. I'd like to thank Darius, Jason and the academy. :devilboy:

I'd guess it's referring to the previous Smartphone release (which probably also explains the 2.1 initial version number)
I'm wondering how this compares to, say MobiMate's WorldMate products, any opinions? Am currently looking to choose such an app...

afaict, WorldMate has a packing list function and costs $10 more on sale. It's usually $15 more. And Fizz Traveller looks better imo.

Haha... A bit quick to jump to conclusions, aren't we?
It was a winner in the Microsoft Mobile2Market 2004 Application Contest.

Look pretty solid. But I was looking at the PDF manual and, unless I missed it, I saw one major flaw - it doesn't use ActiveSync to update its data like WorldMate does. You must do it via WiFi, GPRS, USB connection etc manually.

I've gotta' believe that's something that they should be able to add in later if enough people ask! That would be somewhat of a letdown because this looks absolutely terrific. If I were still traveling every week, I'd be giving this a serious look-over!

Activesync pass-through is automatically used if available. This is always chosen in preference over any dialup connection setting. If pass-through is not available the configured dialup on the device is then used.
Hope this helps.

I'll second that. It's always great to have a developer show up and interact with the community.
Thanks for stopping by!
