Default MDA Compact Pocket PC Phone Now Available at T-Mobile Shops in UK

http://www.coolsmartphone.com/popup1257.html

Coolsmartphone are reporting that the T-Mobile MDA Pocket PC Phone is now available for 169.99 in the UK. They have a few pictures taken in a T-Mobile shop. So if you are after a cheap, decently specified Pocket PC it could be well worth popping in to take a closer look. I know I will.

Wow, this blows my mind.
This means you're getting the MDA Compact for less than $330 USD.

169.99 GBP = $320.45 USD

We'd get similar prices, too, if we could only get the phone from a US carrier subsidized. :|

Considering it's in a T-Mobile box, and it's that cheap, I'd guess it's locked

I would also like to see T-Mobile sell this in the U.S. I have the 6315 now. For my uses, I find the keyboard a waste (I am glad it is removable--I tried it and found that I can type on the screen faster).

The lack of WiFi would not bother me either. I rarely use my WiFi now. I use bluetooth constantly which this has.

The form factor would be the key for me. I love how small it is. Unlike many--I don't need a VGA screen. A Pocket PC Phone that is not much larger than a traditional cell phone yet still has PDA functions is perfect for me. While I like my 6315 (yes, it has some issues but what PDA hasn't?), something that is smaller would be welcome. I think I would find myself switching my sim card to my V600 far less if my PDA was less book-like (especially after business hours).

I've popped in, and it was worthwhile. The screen is so sharp and clear, made the MDA3 I compared it with look blurry. The form factor is very neat, especially the way the stylus is stashed into the corner of the unit. Felt very good in my small (female) hands. If it only had wifi built in, I'd have been walking out of there with one. I'm probably going to get one anyway, and buy a WiFi card.

We're moving my wife's phone from Verizon to T-Mo, and I'd like to get her a PPC Phone Edition device. I have the h6315 and love it, but I think she'd prefer something like the MDA.

If (and that's a BIG if) I found a way to get one of these in the US, does anyone know if it would work on the T-Mo account that I already have?
