Default Motorola MPx Now Shipping...in Brunei

http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000700026890/

"We also have some good and some bad news. The good news is that the Motorolas MPx Pocket PC Phone, which its fair to say weve been keeping an eye on ever since we first learned about it nearly a year ago, has finally hit stores. The bad news, which is especially bad for anyone who couldnt be bothered to read to the end of our headline for this post, is that according to a tipster living there, those stores are in Brunei. We just checked Orbitz for flights, and the cheapest one we could find to Brunei was $1,832 on Northwest. Moto still hasnt said when the MPx might make an appearance in this hemisphere, but we can probably wait this one out."

MPx. 32 MB of RAM. Brunei. Must leave the room now.

Default OR...

Or, you can go to eBay and buy from several reputable sources. I'm expecting mine tomorrow! Looking forward to a pair of comptable bluetooth stereo headphones. Logitech?

I had to read that twice because I thought that was the price of the MPx. :duh: Or is it?

For that price, I'd expect the PERFECT smartphone... with A LOT more RAM... that's for sure...

As cool as this device is, I don't think I could go back to even a 64mb RAM device after getting the 128mb in my SX66. I now install programs into main RAM with impunity and get a DEFINITE performance increase. It is nice to spend an afternoon surfing without running out of memory. 32mb is just so year 2000!ukeface:

Honestly...with Moto's QC issues as of late I would be scared to buy one of these units right now.

Having seen this device for the first time at the CES, I could only come up with one word to describe it:

Eh.

I wasn't terribly impressed.

It's big, the keyboard is kinda weird, and it's unbelievably bulky. Plus it'll be stupidly expensive and doesn't have nearly enough RAM to be functional at the level I expect my Pocket PC's to function at.

As a phone, it's kinda neat, but I'm not looking for a really big phone with a marginal PPC right now. Considering what Samsung, Benq, and Audiovox are offering in the way of PPCPE devices, this one is a major disappointment.

The only thing that will save this device is if it shows up here with 128MB RAM... Otherwise, it's DOA...

What a shame...
