PhonePlus 3 for Pocket PC Phone Edition Released
"PhonePlus III is a phone utility which comes to extend the default phone application in the Pocket PC phone devices. This utility makes it a lot easier to dial and search contacts and use speed dial numbers. PhonePlus III features predictive text technology. By just pressing the first 2 or 3 letters of a name you can reach any contact number you have in memory and dial it in a press of a button."
ME Software have just released a Version 3 update of their popular PhonePlus software. Some of the new features include SMS and multilingual support, among others. The Pocket PC Thoughts Handango store is selling it for $16.49. Of course, subscribers get the usual 15% discount. [Affiliate]

I'm both impressed and disappointed by this software. I installed the trial version of the software and used it for a day or two. I liked it enough to purchased the full version. I have since removed it from my Audiovox XV6600. I liked the name look-up features, and the SMS functionality was nice, but there are a couple of real issues. For one, DTMF is not fully supported as the developer claims. I had the worst time even trying to check my voicemail, not to mention dialing in to check bank balances. Also, the software produces a horrible beeping noice when buttons are pushed or functions are launched. It sounds as though the little speaker is exploding. Not good at all. And there does not appear to be any way of silencing those beeps. Perhaps these fixes will be in the next version/release, but as of right now, I would pass on this software.
